Continuing the evolution of Dubai Mall, the world’s largest retail mall by area, its new Chinatown destination on the first floor opened in 2023 to offer an authentic Oriental experience for Dubai’s residents and visitors. An extensive food court is a star attraction that’s home to 16 outlets serving Asian favourites from dim sum and noodles to freshly-brewed coffees and sushi, whilst Chinatown’s traditional and contemporary clothing, technology and electronics stores offer great-value retail therapy. Once visitors have shopped and dined, a visit to Chinatown’s spa restores wellbeing through principles of traditional Chinese medicine. Chinatown is beautifully styled throughout, immersing visitors in a Hong Kong-inspired street scene with bright neon, red lanterns and traditional shop fronts.
Chinatown is an exciting new addition for Dubai Mall which has added a unique Asian flavour to the Mall’s established retail and leisure offer. Expertly styled, this new phase of the Mall’s development is the latest in a long line of attractions that have made Dubai Mall such a distinctive destination, and is already proving popular with local residents and visitors alike.
Having supported Dubai Mall’s original construction and its subsequent expansion projects since 2004, Omnium’s Dubai team benefits from unmatched understanding of this world-famous site and our client’s expectations for its continued development. Appointed to deliver Commercial Management and Cost Consultancy services to Chinatown at Dubai Mall, our project scope included pre- and post-contract initial estimates, tender evaluation and award, variations, settlement and final account, seamlessly liaising with our Infrastructure sector team and our client to deliver this exciting new retail and leisure offer.
