One of the world’s largest and most luxurious waterfront developments, Dubai Marina is a man-made, 3-km long inshore waterway linked at both ends to the sea, allowing for ease of access by vessels of all sizes. The development of the Marina and the surrounding Jumeirah Beach area has created an exciting hub for both residents and visitors, with thriving nightlife, stunning tower hotel and apartment accommodation and world-class restaurants to support the Yacht Club’s 567 berths. Omnium’s broad skillset has been applied on both land and water to develop this exceptional facility.
Now enjoying a population three times its initial estimate, Dubai Marina continues to grow and is a great success story of development in Dubai. It is now one of the world’s largest marinas, attracting visitors from across the globe as well as providing quality homes and leisure facilities for residents. Omnium is proud to have partnered with our client to deliver this outstanding project.
Omnium’s large Dubai office team, led by Director Nicholas Harris, was appointed by our client to provide full pre- and post-contract QS services for the initial phases of the Dubai Marina project. Uniquely, this included the dredging of the marina bay itself to create the waterway and berthing area, as well as development onshore of the initial phase’s six tall towers, the Dubai Yacht Club, the Dubai Marina Mall and the more recent addition of the Gourmet Tower. Dubai Marina was a master plan development, requiring significant input from Omnium’s infrastructure QS’ as well as our highly experienced onsite team.
Omnium has supported clients with many unique developments, utilising expertise which spans many diverse sectors. Dubai Marina was an exciting project, developing a new area of the emirate to create tourist attractions, homes and leisure facilities which are now vital in supporting the regional economy. Being located within the city and enjoying a strong senior QS team enabled Omnium to deliver consistent, face-to-face support and trusted QS services, ensuring the project was completed on time and within a managed budget.
