Diriyah Gate North District, Saudi Arabia

Situated to the west of Riyadh, Ad Diriyah district is undergoing significant development. The Diriyah Gate master plan aims to preserve, celebrate and transform historic Diriyah into a desirable destination with global appeal that will evoke pride amongst the Saudi community. Known as Saudi Arabia’s cultural capital, and enjoying a rich 300+ year heritage with a UNESCO World Heritage Site at its heart, Diriyah Gate is one of a number of key projects under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, a strategic framework which will diversify Saudi’s economy, bringing new opportunities through public services, infrastructure, recreation and tourism. The Diriyah Gate initiative features cultural and heritage projects, hospitality, retail and education facilities, and targets 27 million local and international visitors by 2030.

The Brief

Already appointed to several other Saudi ‘giga projects’, Omnium International is delighted to work with the Diriyah Gate Development Authority in partnership with project managers ElllisDon on the Diriyah Gate North District sub-project. Our regionally-based Riyadh team is delivering full Pre and Post Contract commercial management services to the site, comprising a plot area of 250,000 sqm, including budget and cost management for the project’s design phase, procurement, tender and Post Contract commercial services throughout construction of entertainment, retail and residential amenities. Diriyah Gate aims to become a vibrant city neighbourhood, with a population of more than 100,000 living amongst ‘walkable’, traditional Najdi streets that inspire active lifestyles, wellness and sustainability, whilst offering a wealth of museums, galleries, dining destinations, public open spaces, education and office facilities.
