Omnium team participates in Dubai’s Retail & Hospitality Construction Summit 2019

This insightful event consolidates the impact made by retail and hospitality on the construction and real estate sector in the UAE, having been the fastest-growing industries in the country for over a decade. Both industries continue to grow, with construction ongoing in hotel and mall projects which increasingly are becoming more mixed-use through the addition of entertainment, leisure and residential amenities.

During the summit, panel discussions and presentations addressed key issues and challenges faced by those operating within construction in the sector.

Main Board Director Kieran Duckworth and specialist sector QS Jason Black participated on the panels which addressed topics including regional development trends, the development of legacy destination projects which will create a lasting impact for the future, sustainability and the design and build of projects in the R&H sector.

Supporting our Omnium values of establishing excellent relationships, Kieran and Jason both placed particular focus on the importance of collaboration between all parties from the outset of a project, allowing a project to work efficiently and within budget.

Dr Russell ‘Rusty’ E. Brainard, the Chief Environment Officer at The Red Sea Development Company in Saudi Arabia presented an insightful keynote on the organisation’s commitment to sustainability, and the challenges and opportunities presented by combining conservation themes with an ultra-luxurious hospitality sector development.
