KAICIID, Vienna

The intention to establish a global unity programme centred around religious education and dialogue was first presented in Saudi Arabia by the Kingdom’s leaders in 2005. In 2009, an International Dialogue Centre was proposed and became a reality in 2011 when the Agreement for the establishment of KAICIID Vienna, an international headquarters and office building in Austria, was signed. The Centre’s inaugural event took place in November 2012, and now works to denounce violence in the name of religion and to protect cultural and religious diversity.

KAICIID Vienna is a building which is already proving instrumental in promoting global dialogue on culture and religion. As a Saudi-based team, we were able to demonstrate our full strength in depth, operating into Europe and working alongside the government to successfully deliver its international base for this landmark cultural project.

The Brief

Appointed by KAICIID directly, Omnium International’s KSA team was proud to support a project with the profile and international importance of KAICIID. Our global expertise transferred seamlessly to Vienna, working in partnership with the client and its local and international teams of consultants to deliver full pre- and post-contract QS services for the listed building conversion project, which created a 6-storey office building of architectural and historical significance.

Omnium’s Experience

Omnium International’s years of experience in providing QS services to some of the region’s most significant and landmark developments proved invaluable in managing KAICIID Vienna. The project required specialist skill in costing and planning the development of an historical, listed building within feasibility and in a manner sympathetic to the original fabric of the building. Omnium’s Saudi team is delighted to have delivered this exceptional project in partnership with the Saudi government.
