AMAALA

An ultra-luxurious destination on the north-western Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia, the AMAALA development comprised a number of integrated luxury resorts located in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Nature Reserve. Dubbed at its inception as the ‘Riviera of the Middle East’, AMAALA was focused on themes of wellness, healthy living and meditation, featuring a pristine 7km² island, a 30km² coastal site and a 25-30km site along Triple Bay’s beautiful stretch of coastline. AMAALA, together with Saudi Arabia’s other major giga-projects, is central to the Kingdom’s tourism economy, supporting wider economic diversification and creating many employment opportunities.

The Brief

Enjoying exceptional master plan expertise in KSA and throughout the Gulf, Omnium delivered Quantity Surveying and Cost Consultancy services to AMAALA including in-house secondment and preparation of preliminary budget for the master plan development. Continually updating the budget throughout concept and detailed master plan phases, Omnium’s team took the development of AMAALA forward into construction.

Secondment allowed us to work closely in partnership with our client, its stakeholders and other contractors, and senior Cost Planners with unique master plan experience brought excellent cost management and control to the project’s concept and detail.
